Titan of enterprise technology, A new security architecture solution from Cisco Systems was announced with the goal of using AI to secure data centers, clouds and other IT environments. The product, named HyperShield, employs artificial intelligence (AI) to safeguard data, devices, and applications.
After spending $28 billion last year to acquire cybersecurity firm Splunk, the business has now launched HyperShield. Companies like DataDog, Elastic, SolarWinds, and Dynatrace are competitors to Splunk. Using HyperShield, Cisco and Nvidia will be able to manage and safeguard AI infrastructure.
Cisco has a great opportunity to establish itself as a major participant in artificial intelligence at a time when major tech companies like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon are investing billions to become leaders in the AI field. “This is not a product, but a new architecture-the first version of something new,” said Jeetu Patel, Cisco’s executive vice president and general manager of security and collaboration.
According to Patel, HyperShield acts as a “shield for security,” taking security straight to the objects that require protection. By acting more like a “fabric” than a “fence,” the technology helps cyber workers see software vulnerabilities across apps.
Autonomous segmentation is one part of the solution that assists businesses in preventing vulnerabilities and breaches. It makes it possible for Cisco’s AI to divide a computer network into smaller sections in order to improve performance and security. Because many of the designs in the industry were developed before the arrival of contemporary applications and technology like generative AI, security architectures such as HyperShield were not developed before.
