Mark Zuckerberg Becomes the Third-richest Person in the World after Entering the Exclusive $200 Billion Club

New data from Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index indicates that Zuckerberg’s net worth increased to $201 billion in 2024—a staggering $73.4 billion increase. The CEO of Meta has surpassed three other people to become the fourth richest person in the world, and he has joined the exclusive $200 billion club.

The only individuals with more wealth than Zuckerberg are Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and X ($272 billion); Bezos, the founder of Amazon ($211 billion); and Arnault, the CEO of luxury business LVMH ($207 billion).

Mark has now surpassed all other people in the world in net worth, with a whopping $200 billion. Zuckerberg is Q`x next to Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, per Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index.

The majority of 40-year-old Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s income is derived from stock in Meta Platforms. In 2024, Meta’s (META) share price increased by around 64%. The closing price of Meta shares on Wednesday was $568.31, a record high, after a 0.9% gain. Shares of Meta dropped to $567.36.

With a net worth of $265 billion, Elon Musk is still the richest person in the world. Jeff Bezos is second, with $216 billion. According to a July 2024 filing, Zuckerberg’s 13% investment in Meta accounts for the majority of his wealth. With around four billion monthly users, Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, brought about $134.9 billion in revenue in 2023.

Zuckerberg surpassed industry titans, including former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and co-founder Larry Ellison, in net worth in 2024 when his wealth climbed by $71.8 billion. His 13% ownership stake in Meta, or roughly 345.5 million shares, accounts for a major portion of his wealth.

Zuckerberg’s fortune has increased significantly as a result of Meta stock’s roughly 60% growth since January, which has seen shares reach record highs of around $560. Strong investor demand has been fueled by Meta’s valuation, which is at 24 times forward earnings, which is roughly average for the company’s 10-year history and slightly less than the 26-times ratio of the Nasdaq 100.

Zuckerberg declared during the Meta Connect 2024 event that Meta AI is headed toward becoming the most popular assistant globally. “We’re nearing 500 million monthly active users, and we haven’t even launched in some of the major markets like those in the European Union,” he stated.

In 2024, Zuckerberg won’t be the only tech titan to see significant success. This year has seen notable wealth rises for Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, whose net worths have increased by $58.6 billion and $62.2 billion, respectively.
