Lenovo Embraces AI Innovation with Microsoft and Qualcomm on PCs

Lenovo officials revealed that it will be participating in Qualcomm and Microsoft’s AI-powered computing initiative by releasing a new range of laptops designed to be optimised for the Snapdragon X Elite architecture.

The first device to come with the Snapdragon X Elite processor is the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7×14 Gen 9. Up to 1 TB of storage and up to 32 GB of RAM are available. The 14.5-inch 3K OLED touchscreen has a 1000 nit maximum brightness.

With just the laptop speakers, users can create a stereo sound experience because it’s compatible with Dolby Vision and Atmos Audio. There are fewer ports on the laptop than on other Lenovo models because it is designed to be a portable device. It has two USB Type-C ports on the left and one on the right of the Yoga Slim 7x.

Lenovo integrated Qualcomm’s latest CPUs into its ThinkPad series, designed primarily for business users. One can purchase the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 with up to 64 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. The laptop has three types of 14-inch displays available: 2.8K OLED, IPS touch screen, or low-power IPS display. Compared to the Yoga Slim model, it has additional ports. The ThinkPad T14s features an audio jack, two USB-A, two USB-C and an HDMI 2.1 connector.

It’s important to remember that using the Snapdragon X Elite platform differs from using a CPU that is based on AMD or Intel. Microsoft has experimented with ARM-based chips in the past with products like the Surface Go 3. However, it has been enhanced to support generative AI and handle more complex language models. In addition to the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 that will retail for $1,700 next month, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x will go on sale in June 2024 for $1,200.
