Background

IBM held its Industry 4.0 Studio Tour in Singapore, an event organized by IBM to gather global technological leaders in one place to share expertise on digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and the future of the industry. This conference, which was hosted at the i4 studio by IBM, used demos and panel discussions to inform.

Hans Dekkers, the General Manager of Asia Pacific in IBM, was the first to make an opening speech. He spoke of the strategy pursued by IBM in the region and its adoption of hybrid cloud and AI applications. Dekkers has the overall management responsibilities of the operations in Asia Pacific, including Southeast Asia, India, Korea, and China.

Partnering Progress: Advancing AI and Future-proofing was one of the fireside chats, which were led by General Manager, Catherine Lian, and Technology Leader, IBM ASEAN. She discussed the achievements made through AI, also she covered the issue of gender and the possibility of women’s leadership in the technological world. Lian has won various awards in the IT sector.

The THINK Main Tent panel included IBM Senior Vice President Rob Thomas, Chief Commercial Officer, and Senior Vice President of Software. Thomas, who leads the company’s global software business, outlined growth opportunities in enterprise technology.

Other well-known speakers brought ideas from other sectors. Jerome Walter, the CTO Field at HashiCorp and the former chief information security officer (CISO) of Trust Bank Singapore, discussed cybersecurity and the role that digital banks play. Parul Handa, Vice President of Global Technology Sales at IBM, touched upon how AI and automation are capable of increasing enterprise productivity.

Barry Baker, Chief Operating Officer, IBM Infrastructure, spoke about the best practices of hybrid infrastructure to support business-critical applications. Julian Tan, who has worked in the field of AI-based supply chain approaches, spoke about innovation in manufacturing systems.

Regional leaders also contributed. Kitman Chueng, CTO, IBM, ASEAN, pitched on data, software, and cybersecurity, and Purushothama Shenoy, APAC Field CTO, IBM Ecosystem, addressed the need to focus on hybrid cloud and security-driven digital transformation.
