Apple is on the Verge of Finalizing an Agreement with OpenAI to Incorporate ChatGPT into the iPhone

As part of a larger effort to add Artificial Intelligence capabilities to its products, Apple Inc. is nearing an agreement with OpenAI to utilize the startup’s technology on the iPhone, according to individuals familiar with the subject. The parameters of an agreement between the two parties to utilize ChatGPT features in Apple’s upcoming iPhone operating system, iOS 18, have been finalized.

As part of a flurry of new AI capabilities that it plans to unveil next month, Apple will be able to offer a well-known chatbot. In April, it was revealed that there had been discussions with OpenAI officials. However, there’s no assurance that a deal will be revealed soon.

When Apple hosts its yearly Worldwide Developers Conference, it intends to make a big impression in the AI community. As part of the endeavor, the company will host some of its future Artificial Intelligence technologies in data centers equipped with its own processors.

In 2023, Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook said he personally uses OpenAI’s ChatGPT but added that there were “a number of issues that need to be sorted.” He promised that new AI features would come to Apple’s products on a “very thoughtful basis.”

During an earnings conference call, the CEO of Apple said that the tech giant would have an edge in AI. “We believe in the transformative power and promise of AI, and we believe we have advantages that will differentiate us in this new era, including Apple’s unique combination of seamless hardware, software and service integration.”
